My Top 5 for Fall

FILED IN: Top 5

I thought I’d start a fun new series each month, introducing my TOP 5 Favorite Things. Not only is it a fun way to keep up with comings and goings in travel but also a way to share the things that bring a little extra joy to my life…and we could all use more joy right?! This month I have a few things that are making the fall season just that much better.

1. Ok, lets spill the tea….Constant Comment that is.

Im a hot drink conissuer to be sure. Especially this time of year, in front of a fire with a good book…ok we will get to the books in a second but lately I can’t get enough of Constant Comment (decaf, I know heartbreaking.) I found it in a basket of options while traveling and maybe have my amazon cued up to replenish on the regular. Its got a great depth to it, but also has spicy citrus notes. BRB, brewing a mug now!

2. Australia and New Zealand Itineraries are giving me life.

There was a time when it seemed that the boarders down under would NEVER open. Sticking to their guns and keeping this amazing Islands closed in the name of protecting its people but we couldn’t be more excited that they are finally open and ready to welcome you once again. As soon as the news came in I had clients clicking send on their inquiry forms. Its easy to see why. Both destinations truly have something for everyone. Beaches, wildlife, Aboriginal culture, impeccable weather…and don’t get me started on The Great Barrier Reef. This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you have ever wanted to find out more about visiting this amazing destination please reach out to me here. I would love to chat about all the options.

Best time to go: Shoulder seasons to avoid crowds and weather (Sept-Nov, Mar-May)
Pricing: Budget $3000-$5000 per person (for two weeks, not including flights), Luxury $5000-$8000 per person (for two weeks, not including flights)
Suggested length of stay: At least 10 days, 14 is ideal if you can get away with it.

3. Book of the Month

Hello my fellow Bibliophiles! Im not sure if your like me but I currently have 65 zillion unread books under my bed, next to my bed, in my nightstand, and scattered amongst my various bags…but you can never have enough am I right? Thats why I love Book of the Month. Its an awesome subscription based book club where you can choose from their curated books each month, or choose from their large library and have your book/books sent right to your doorstep. No time this month, simply skip and find something new next month. No this is not an ad, maybe one day they will pay me to sing their praises but this month alone I received three new books…now to find time to sip my Constant Comment and devour one of them. What was the best book you read recently?

4. Ladies and Gentleman….they have joined forces and its beautiful!

I mean, who else could I be talking about but Starbucks and Delta Airlines? Two brands that in my world rock at brand loyalty. Im a fiercly devoted fan of each and when they could already do no wrong…enter something ever better!

Starting Oct. 12, U.S. customers who are enrolled in both Delta SkyMiles and Starbucks Rewards loyalty programs can easily link their accounts by visiting either deltastarbucks.com or starbucksdelta.com. Once the accounts are linked, members will earn one mile per $1 spent on eligible purchases at Starbucks, and on days when enrolled members have a scheduled flight with Delta, they will earn double Stars on eligible purchases at participating Starbucks stores. This new benefit is open to currently enrolled members as well as new members of the companies’ loyalty programs. Customers can join Starbucks Rewards at starbucks.com/rewards and Delta SkyMiles at delta.com/join-skymiles.

What are you waiting for??? Go link those babies!

5. Can you even believe this place???

Gleneagles, Perthshire, Scotland

Fall in the Highlands sounds like my own particular brand of heaven. Open since 1924 Gleneagles is the perfect property when you need a homebase while exploring the Highlands. Not only is it the coziest estate but there are so many fun activities for everyone, topped off with some exceptional dining…see, perfection.

Activities: Horseback riding, Falconry, Shooting and Fishing, and of course Golf boastin three of the top courses in Scotland
MUST stay room category: Royal Lochnagar Suite – Panoramic views over the property and Ochil Hills, private sitting room, and a four poster bed of dreams!
Distance from Edinburgh: Only 1hr 15min

I hope you enjoyed my little top 5 for October. Maybe you found something new to love or a new destination to dream about, either way Im wishing you peace, and cozy afternoons with a good book,
